Planned color pooling is a technique you can use to produce specific pooling designs or color effects in your crocheted or knitted projects using variegated yarns with consistent, repeating color sequences.
If you are using already dyed yarn, determine the color sequence of your yarn and the number of stiches per color for the hook or needle size that you are working with. Select colors similar to the colors in your yarn for one complete repeat of the sequence. If you are dyeing your own yarn, create your design first and then dye your yarn to match your design.
To create your design, select a dye type and two or more shades. Click on the Submit button. The tool will display your design in a new tab where you can enter the details about your already dyed yarn or the yarn you are planning to dye and change the design until you get a design that you like.
