Use this page to create random diagonally striped square designs for baby blankets, afghans and other square projects. You don't have to be a dyer to use this tool — just pick colors similar to the colors of your already dyed yarn.
To create your design, select a dye type, at least two shades and at least one stripe width. For knitting projects, always change colors on the same side of your work. For garter stitch stripes, one garter ridge is equal to one row. For stockinette stitch stripes, one knit row and one purl row is equal to one row. Enter the total number of rows in your project and click on the Submit button. The tool will display your design in a new tab. If you don't like the results, you can keep refreshing the pattern until you get one you like.
